As the Piracanga River gently winds its way through vast fields of coconut to finally merge into the ocean, so will we interweave the complimentary techniques of pranayama, chanting, yoga and dance into a joyful experience of living more fully in tune with spirit and nature. Delve into these complimentary practices to take you on a deeply transformative week. Each day will offer pranayama sessions and long, soulful kirtans with Jai, classical Indian and Brazilian rhythmic dance explorations with Nubia and yoga classes probing new territory with Anne. There will be ample opportunity to take part in other activities such as surfing, cooking lessons, capoeira and dance performances, side trips to the surrounding areas or just hanging out and reading on the beach! Families welcome!

Deposit Policy: A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required to hold your space, with the balance due on June 1, 2008.

Cancellation Policy: In the event of cancellation your entire payment will be refunded less the $500 deposit if the cancellation is made before June 1, 2008. Payments are nonrefundable after this date.

Travel insurance: We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance for your trip. There are many travel insurance companies to choose from but Travelex (www.travelex.com) and STA (www.statravel.com) are two reputable organizations for worldwide travel coverage.

About the Instructor

Jai Uttal, a sacred music composer, recording artist, multi-instrumentalist, and ecstatic vocalist, combines influences from India with influences from American rock and jazz, creating a stimulating and exotic multi-cultural fusion that is truly world spirit music. Having travelled extensively in India, where he met many beautiful saints and singers, Bhakti yoga became his personal path. Jai has been leading kirtans around the world for more than 30 years, creating a safe environment for people to open their hearts and voices. His 7th CD release, "Mondo Rama", was nominated for a Grammy award.

Nubia Teixeira has spent the past 16 years teaching yoga in her home country of Brazil and in the United States. She began her studies with Bhakti and Hatha Yoga and has since been deepening her practice through books, pilgrimages, workshops and teacher trainings around the world, including India, where she studied both Yoga and Classical Indian Dance. Living now in Northern California with her husband, Jai Uttal, and baby, Ezra, Nubia is a performing member of the Odissi Vilas dance company under the guidance of Shri Vishnu Tatva Das. Borrowing from different traditions, teachers and cultures, she has developed a teaching style for Yoga as well as dance that is flexible, spontaneous, and sensitive to the needs of her students. Nubia has recently released her first CD entitled "Pranayama: May Our Breath Be Our Prayer" on the Sounds True label.

Anne O'Brien is dedicated to teaching yoga to enhance health, unveil the natural beauty of one's spirit and encourage wholeness of being, wholeness of life. She invites students to cultivate curiosity and to experience their yoga from within inviting true transformative benefits. Anne has been practicing yoga for nearly 20 year. Her teaching is influenced by discoveries in her own practice; a broad study in yoga traditions in Europe, the US & India; and by master teachers TKV Desikachar, Dona Holleman, Rodney Yee, Edward Clark, Patricia Sullivan, and others. She instructs teachers-in-training at her school in Santa Rosa, teaches classes at Yoga Studio Glen Ellen and at Yoga Studio Larkspur Landing, and leads retreats near and far.
